First and foremost, I am here to help you with your writing, editorial, and social media needs, and look forward to collaborating. Check out my Services page for information on how I can help you. Or just contact me straight out.
I started writing seriously during grad school, where I wrote about Medieval and Baroque music, as well as Bartok string quartets (I was a professional musician for a long time). I went on to write about food, culture, the arts, recreation, and real estate in Queens.
In 2012 I was asked to write a guidebook to food in Queens, aptly called Food Lovers’ Guide to Queens. Yes, I ate a lot. A lot. The project was awesome and I walked miles and miles throughout the borough. You can read a number of interviews I gave about the book here.
In 2010 I co-founded We Heart Astoria, which has blossomed into two more websites, We Heart LIC and We Heart Sunnyside. Our content is pretty popular and we receive over 100,000 page views a month (closer to 125,000 and that keeps growing). We are the go-to resource for interesting things in Western Queens.
I write about global cuisine, CSAs, raw dairy, fermentation, and eating/preparing other traditional foods on Harmonious Belly. I also develop recipes and perform cooking demonstrations at the greenmarket each year.
I really, really love blogging and creating digital content, and have been doing it since 1996.
In the past, my work has required me to be flexible, quick-thinking, physically strong, analytical, creative, meet deadlines, and all of it has demanded hard work and improvisation. I’ve helped a lot of people make a lot of money over the years, been part of efforts that have changed the world, and I’ve interpreted and created things and ideas. Find out more on LinkedIn.
